Maps of Victoria Harbour
Our Victoria Harbour is defined by law as the area
between Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon peninsular
starting on the west from a line between Tsing Yi island
and Green Island while stopping on the east at the
narrow point of Lei Yue Mun.
This area encompasses Stonecutters' island, which is
no longer an island due to reclamation, the West Kowloon
Cultural District, Tsimsha Tsui and the old Kai Tak
Airport which is now converted into a cruise terminal.
In practice however the term is used more loosely and
we recognize the waters around the islands to be part of
our harbour as well as it is of course all connected not
just by water but by ferries, but usage and by the
concerns of the public in issues such as pollution,
excessive reclamation, marine safety and so on.
