Restaurants
Looking for a great dining experience that can be
combined with views over our great Harbour? Due to
the central position of the harbour in the city, right
between Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsular,
there is no shortages of places to eat with outstanding
city views.
Here are a few highlights, but also don't forget that
dinner cruises on the harbour are also a great option!
In the Harbour Grand Hotel is the "Le 188 Degrees"
fine dining French restaurant which makes as a prominent
feature its wall to ceiling glass windows which give
grand views over the harbour. Located in the
otherwise uninteresting suburban and light commercial
district of Fortress Hill it is still easily reached by
Taxi or by MTR. A formal restaurant, not accepting
children at dinner, it is well worth visiting just for
the view!
On the other side of the harbour the Intercontinental
hotel is right beside the Tsimshatsui Promenade and its
various restaurants therefore have a great view of our
harbour. From the Lobby Lounge to the 1
Michelin starred Steakhouse up to Alain Ducasse's
2 star "Spoon" each restaurant shared various
great views of over Victoria Harbour and with Central
district on Hong Kong directly across the water it is
also a great place to see the lights on the buildings
during the nightly
symphony of lights show.
Maxim's Palace City Hall is at the city hall
building in Central and is one of the larger Dim Sum
restaurants in Hong Kong, due to its great location
there are great views over our harbour, though with
reclamation now in progress these views will sadly one
day be reduced so visit today not to miss them!
Felix at The Peninsula hotel on Tsimshatsui
this is one of the leading restaurants in one of the
leading hotels of the world.
Pizza Express and Starbucks in Ocean
Terminal offer much more budget and casual options as do
a varity of ever changing restaurants in the same
building, which serves as a cruise ferry pier right next
to Star Ferry Pier on Tsimshatsui. Just walk
through the shopping arcades and select the restaurant
of your choice, on some days the views from some may be
blocked by cruise ships so select which one is good on
the day of your visit!
And finally the classic view of Victoria Harbour try
the Peak Tower on Victoria Peak which has a variety of
dining choices, from Cafe Deco serving modern
western pizza, pasta and stake dishes through to the
chain Bubba Gump option with seafood and shrimp
offerings.
